ABOUT JOHN DREHER

John Dreher was born January 15, 1983, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His gifting in music was cultivated at an early age; he sang as a soloist in the Rosebud Choir in kindergarten, and was directing his youth choir by the age of 16. When he became a senior in high school, he was noted as an experienced worship leader, choir director, and winning competitor as a soloist within the Dekalb County School System.

While enrolled at Lagrange College, John furthered his knowledge in the area of music receiving both a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance and Creative music technologies. During this time he continued to compete as a classical vocalist on the state level, winning first place in the male vocalist category of the National Association of Teachers of Singing contest for three consecutive years. He also began gathering inter-denominational ministry experience while working for First United Methodist Church of Lagrange (section leader, worship leader, drummer), First Presbyterian Church of Lagrange (section leader, hired soloist), Bethlehem Baptist Church of West Point, Georgia (choir director) , and A House of the Living God, Curch of Jesus Christ Ministries of Manchester, Georgia (worship leader).

After college, John completed his graduate studies at Boston University where he received his Master of Music in Vocal Performance. He also appeared as a soloists in European tours in England, and Northern Ireland. John also worked as a background arranger, songwriter, and additional vocalist for national recording artists, A7. A song that he co-wrote entitled “Don’t Walk Away” appeared on the Billboard’s Gospel Top 20 list and won a Gospel Music Award for song of the Year in 2006.

John graduated from Boston University and embraced a full time career in Music Ministry. He moved to Baltimore where he taught music at Tabernacle Christian School, while maintaining his position as Minister of Music at Gospel Tabernacle of Baltimore where he led worship and taught regular bible studies, to include preaching the gospel on Sunday mornings.

Today John is the Music Pastor of Kingdom Metropolitan Worship Center in Columbus, GA. He trusts that his education and diversity in ministry experience will keep him relevant this age.
